Now, more than ever, the Kent School of Social Work faces stiff competition from programs in our own state and across the globe. We know we have the #1 Social Work Program in Kentucky and offer a top-notch educational opportunity for students with caring staff and nationally recognized faculty. However, we need your help to get the message out about the great things happening at the Kent School.
For almost 80 years, the Kent School of Social Work has undergone many transformations, but during that time it has always maintained a close working relationship with the practice community and the region’s human service needs. The Kent School is dedicated to the education of future social workers and prepares them to work in a variety of areas including alcohol and drug counseling, mental health, leadership and management, gerontology, school social work, military social work, and more.
The Kent School offers on-line and face-to-face opportunities at both the BSW and MSSW levels. Our Renato La Rocca Chair in Oncology Social Work attracts students from across the country into our masters and doctoral program. Our Couple and Family Therapy (CFT) Program, once a specialization in our MSSW Program, is pending final approval by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education to be open to enrollment of students in Spring 2020 as a separate CFT degree in the Kent School.
Our biggest need is to offer scholarships to our students. In all of the programs at the Kent School, our students need assistance. We hope you consider supporting a scholarship fund that will help finance the education of a future social worker. Any gift will make a difference. Dean Jenkins has offered to match any giving up to $5,000. Help us make him pay!
Thank you for participating in UofL’s Day of Giving.
