For almost 80 years, the Kent School of Social Work has undergone many transformations, but we remain a unit that values social justice and maintains a close working relationship with the practice community and the region’s human service needs. The Kent School is dedicated to the education of future social workers and family therapists who are prepared to work in a variety of areas including alcohol and drug counseling, mental health, leadership and management, family practice, gerontology, school social work, military social work, and more.
We are still working on our new Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) program that will offer advanced practice opportunities in social work. Our program will focus on teaching and leadership. We hope to have the program formally approved through the university system in the next couple of months so we can accept students for the Fall of 2021.
Our biggest need continues to be helping students afford college. We need to offer bigger and better scholarships to attract the most outstanding students. Please consider supporting a scholarship or fund that will help finance the education of a future social worker or family therapist. Any gift will make a difference.
Thank you for participating in UofL’s Day of Giving.
