It is an exciting time for the University of Louisville School of Medicine. We are in the final stages of developing a new strategic plan for the university for the next three years, with emphasis on making UofL a great place to learn, work and invest.
UofL’s acquisition of Jewish Hospital, Frazier Rehab Institute and other KentuckyOne Health properties secures our strategic position as a premier regional academic medical center and enhances our school’s clinical, teaching and research initiatives. We have integrated these entities with UofL Hospital, UofL Physicians and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center as UofL Health.
Providing high quality education and student experience remain top priorities and we are succeeding. Second-year students in the School of Medicine responding to questionnaires have expressed their satisfaction. UofL students reported they strongly agree or agree when answering questions related to working in disadvantaged communities, personal and professional development, learning environment and reaffirming their choice to attend medical school.
Through basic and clinical research, our faculty members are improving lives around the world. They have made significant breakthroughs in spinal cord injury recovery, the connection between environment and health, cancer therapies, and more.
We hope you will show your pride in the School of Medicine and support the education of our students, the retention of exceptional faculty, and the basic and clinical research that will improve the health of the people of our state, nation and world.
