Thank you for choosing to support the J.B. Speed School of Engineering! When you make a gift today, we ask that you consider directing your support to the Engineering Fundamentals Department to support the success of our new engineering students.

The Engineering Fundamentals Department introduces entering Speed students to the discipline of engineering. Engineering Methods, Tools, and Practice I and II are two new courses for all our freshman Speed students. The first course incorporates teamwork, design, and critical thinking by having students reflect on the Engineering Grand Challenges while they learn  programming, graphics and other engineering tools. In the second course, students work in teams to build and test a small-scale power plant model, including designing and printing some components with 3D printers. This course utilizes the new 15,000 ft2 maker space on campus - the Engineering Garage. Your donation will support continuing efforts to refine and deliver this exciting course sequence.
