The Kent School is dedicated to the education of future social workers and family therapists who are prepared to be a voice for the underserved, support and guide the community in the fight against addiction, provide compassionate counsel for individuals and families battling cancer, and more. For almost 80 years, the Kent School of Social Work has undergone many transformations, but we remain a unit that values social justice and maintains a close working relationship with the practice community and the region’s human service needs.
Our world renown faculty continue to educate students in focus areas such as alcohol and drug counseling, mental health, leadership and management, family practice, gerontology, school social work, military social work, and more. This year we have welcome our new Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) program that offers advanced practice opportunities in social work, with a primary focus on teaching and leadership. This is the first 100% online doctorate program offered by the University and we are thrilled to have our first cohort embarking on this journey this Fall 2021 semester.
We can’t do this without YOU! We are excited to expand and continue our education and support to social work professionals at all levels in their careers. Our biggest need continues to be creating an affordable college experience for all our students. Help us educate the next generation of social workers with a gift to student scholarships in a program you are passionate about today! Your gifts, large or small, matter and make education possible for a future social worker or family therapist!
Dean’s Match!!!! Dean Jenkins will be doing a Dean’s match this year. Dean Jenkins will match up to $3,000 in gifts made to Kent School funds during Raise Some L with a gift to a fund(s) of his choice.
